To convert a forex commission per lot to pips, double the per-side figure to get the round-turn cost, then divide by the pip value of one standard lot, which is $10 on any pair quoted in US dollars. A $3.50 per-side commission is $7.00 round turn, and $7.00 divided by $10 is 0.70 pips.

How do you convert a forex commission per lot to pips?

Find the commission per standard lot and note whether it is per side or round turn. If per side, double it: both legs are charged. Divide by the pip value of a standard lot, $10 on any USD-quote pair (100,000 units times 0.0001). The method is evergreen; only the schedules expire.

Eightcap Raw$3.50 per lot, per side (USD account; AUD, NZD, SGD and CAD accounts pay 3.50 in their own dollar, so their pip figure differs)$7.000.70
Pepperstone Razor“from USD$3.50 per lot, per side”$7.000.70
Tickmill Raw$3 per lot per side$6.000.60
Fusion Markets Zero$2.25 commissions per side$4.500.45

Add the commission in pips to the published spread for the all-in cost, as in Eightcap vs Blueberry Markets and Fusion Markets vs Tickmill.

What if the commission is in pounds or euros?

Eightcap’s table prints a second schedule: GBP2.25 and EUR2.75 per standard lot per side. The pip value on a USD-quote pair stays $10 whatever the account currency, so the output is a formula: GBP4.50 round turn is 0.45 times the GBP/USD rate in pips, and EUR5.50 is 0.55 times EUR/USD. At an assumed GBP/USD of 1.30, an illustration rather than a quote, that is about 0.59 pips.

Questions readers ask

How many pips is $7 commission? On one standard lot of a USD-quote pair, $7.00 is 0.70 pips, because one pip on 100,000 units is $10. If the $7 is per side rather than round turn, the trade costs $14, or 1.40 pips. Non-USD quotes carry a different pip value.

Is commission charged per side or round turn? The schedule says which. Eightcap, Fusion Markets and Tickmill print per-side figures on the pages this desk read on 14 September 2026; Pepperstone prints $3.50 per side on its own platform but 6 USD and 7 USD round trip on cTrader and TradingView.

How much is 1 pip on a standard lot? One pip on 100,000 units is $10 when the pair is quoted in US dollars, because 100,000 times 0.0001 is $10. A mini lot is $1 a pip and a micro lot $0.10. Yen and other non-USD quotes carry a different value.
